Explaining “Reflections on Christian Discipleship”
During the last couple of weeks as I was redesigning this site, I did a lot of thinking about what its purpose is, what its purpose has been, and what its purpose should be. Who’s my audience? Where do I best contribute?
You might have noticed the new subtitle “Reflections on Christian Discipleship.” I think this encapsulates well what I’ve truly been about and what I want to stand for going forward. Below is a portion of the new “About” page that I wanted to share with you. It explains the reasoning behind the name. I would love to hear from you about how you’re most helped by this blog, either in the comments, or by emailing me at email@example.com. My aim is to serve you the best I can. If I never hear from you, I’ll never know exactly what you need!
Thanks for being with me thus far, and I hope this clarifies some things going forward.
About the Blog
This blog exists to help Christians pursue further depth in their relationship with Christ and their approach to life. This is where the subtitle, reflections on Christian discipleship, comes in.
Reflections – The definition of a reflection is “serious thought or consideration, especially one that is written down.” A large part of what you’ll find here is someone who gives serious thought and consideration in writing to the Christian life.
Christian – I am joyfully dedicated to Jesus Christ and will be reflecting on life with Him specifically. I am not reflecting on any faith, but specifically on the Christian faith.
Discipleship – This is a term that encompasses what I usually write about: pursuing apprenticeship to the Master Jesus, living a life that reflects Him well, challenging us to rethink what it means to follow Him, and encouraging us to be doers of God’s word, allowing our lives to be molded and disrupted by His teaching.
To sum up, you can expect to read articles in which I’ve given serious thought to how to be a disciple of Jesus in our lives today.
I typically post new articles twice a week. To make sure you don’t miss my newest posts, you can subscribe to my blog via email.
